Maryland Broadband Cooperative is Certified All Fiber by the Fiber Broadband Association

Certification demonstrates proven commitment to future-proof fiber connectivity

[Salisbury, MD —(June 11, 2025)] — Today, Maryland Broadband Cooperative (MdBC) received the Fiber Broadband Association’s. All Fiber Certification for ensuring its customers can access the fastest, most reliable broadband connectivity available. The All Fiber Certification is available to Fiber Broadband Association members who demonstrate a high-level of strategic commitment to fiber deployment by ensuring 90% or more of their networks rely on fiber optic infrastructure.

Maryland Broadband Cooperative (MdBC) operates a 2,500-mile, all-fiber middle-mile network that spans nearly every rural region of Maryland, delivering high-speed, high-capacity broadband transport to underserved and unserved communities. As a 501(c)(12) member-owned organization, MdBC provides wholesale broadband infrastructure to Internet Service Providers (ISPs), government agencies, healthcare systems, educational institutions, and other anchor institutions. With 33 points of presence and critical infrastructure projects—including a submarine cable under the Chesapeake Bay and 100G circuit deployments—MdBC’s network is a foundational component in Maryland’s statewide digital access and economic development strategy.
