20 Years of Building Maryland’s Digital Foundation
Founded in 2006, MdBC was established to address a critical challenge: the need for affordable, reliable broadband infrastructure across Maryland. As a not-for-profit cooperative, MdBC brought together regional partners to develop an open-access, middle-mile fiber network that supports last-mile providers and public institutions.
Over the past 20 years, that vision has grown into a statewide asset. Supporting internet service providers, healthcare systems, educational institutions, public safety agencies, and local governments.
