100 G Rural Connectivity
Maryland Broadband Cooperative and Choptank Fiber have launched two new 100 Gigabit internet circuits to strengthen broadband access across Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The upgrade significantly expands network capacity and improves internet speed and reliability for rural residents, businesses, schools, and healthcare providers. By combining Maryland Broadband Cooperative’s middle-mile fiber network with Choptank Fiber’s local service infrastructure, the partnership aims to bridge the digital divide and support economic growth, education, remote work, and other essential digital services in underserved communities.
