Bay Crossing
The first of its kind endeavor that MdBC successfully completed.
- 9 miles of the only fiber cable of its kind under the Chesapeake Bay
- Unique fiber link that not only the Eastern Shore and Southern Maryland networking systems benefited.
- Both members and government partners maximize communication capabilities at both NASA and Patuxent River Naval Air Station for flight operations coordination.
- Environmental impacts were mitigated through efforts with USM partners and those at the Hornpoint lab. We doubled the acreage of oyster beds that were existing before cable endeavors were pursued which resulted in the creation of 4 acres of oyster beds.
